Description

This box of balance weights has spaces for nine cylindrical metal weights with button-shaped knobs (five are missing). There is a shallow tray with dividers underneath the cylindrical weights. The box itself is hinged and lined in black velvet on the top inside cover.

Permas weights are made of non-magnetic stainless steel and therefore have a permanent mass. The Class S2 indication on the lid of the box meant that these weights met the United States Bureau of Standard’s tolerances for laboratory weights for analytical and precise technical work.
