Description

Hannibal and its twin robot Attilla were the first robots constructed by the Mobot Lab "to serve as experimental platforms for authomous planetary exploration." The robots are identical except Hannibal is red and Attila is gold. Colin Angle designed the hardware (described in his MS thesis, "Design of an Artificial Creature," thesis for the degree of Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, June 1991) and Cynthia Breazeal (Ferrell) designed the software (described in her MS thesis, "Robust Agent Control of an Autonomous Robot with Many Sensors and Actuators," thesis for the the degree of Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, June 1993). Hannibal is a 6-legged walking robots.
