Convocation, titled "Mid-Century Convocation on the Implications of Social Progress," featured Sir Winston Churchill as the star guest speaker. Churchill's rousing speech is considered one of his most renowned on the emerging Cold War. The convocation was held at Boston Garden with an estimated audience of 13,000.
