Description

This paperweight consists of a clear plastic paperweight with a black back and the text “Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science / 1882-1982” and a red and white MIT Mens et Manus seal with the text “VI” superimposed on it. There is an electrical discharge pattern that appears all through paperweight, creating a white tree-like pattern in the plastic. The back of the paperweight has an explanatory description of how the pattern was made and why the technique was symbolic of the department.
