This is one of a group of drawings collected by William Robert Ware in England in 1866 and 1867. MIT's Course IV architecture program, established by Ware in 1867, is the oldest academic program in architecture in the country. Ware collected these drawings to serve as examples for students and with them established an architecture study collection at MIT.
