Revitilization and Reconstruction of the Historic District of Santiago, Chile.

"The proposal would have supplemented the existing street network with new pedestrial network of 'joints' and 'links' building on the mid-block pedestrian 'pasajes' that already existed in many of central Santiago's blocks. Diagrammatically, each block has five pedestrian joints. One is in the center of the block where the new paths intersect. This joint occurs within the urban room. The other four joints occur where the new paths meet the existing sidewalks. The links are potentially three-dimensional, with access on grade, above grade, or below grade.
