You can always type full-text searches into the main search bar any time it is visible.

The facet checkboxes in the left hand column will help you refine a search; you can also use these without any search term to browse collections.

You can use quotation marks to search for several terms as a group.

If you are getting too many results that seem unrelated to your search term, try the "exact match only" checkbox.
